Beautiful baby!!! I didn't know you had those kinds of weeds, etc. in CA.?? Is that her fur beside her?

Jim says: Yep, that's her fur. I was giving her a brushing while she was lounging. I didn't even charge her anything for it.

Nice! I've never seen a tag like that. It looks indestructible.

Ref Jingling Tags: I have bought something called a Quiet Spot Tag Silencer (you can google for info/price). Its wonderful! Kind of like a small envelope for the tags with velcro fasteners. They do wear out. I've had to replace them after about a year. When Cosmo was a puppy, I had one on the older one, and not on him .. so when I heard the jingle of the tags, I knew where he was or what he was up to. LOL. Now they both have the tag silencer.

D.

Jim says: We used to have one of those on Tucker; it was a little blue nylon envelope with snaps rather than velcro. It did eventually wear out and we never replaced it. I'm sure I have an old picture of him wearing it; maybe I'll scan it and post it!

Wouldn't it be nice if Municipal and rabies tags could be made this way? No more constant jingling, and maybe less discoloration of the fur. Cai's white throat is all greyed from his tags.

Jim says: That would be nice! I'd even pay a little extra fee for it!

Awww, so I guess Trouble doesn't run away? Lucky. I'm glad we don't have foxtails in NJ, though we do have rose bushes and evergreens that Loki likes to get tangled around. I guess there's always something everywhere you go.

Jim says: No, Pooh and Trouble are (or were, in the case of Pooh) both very good about never trying to leave the yard. Of course, they were both pretty old (11+) before they were ever allowed out, and the yard is fully fenced. And where else would Trouble get served breakfast in bed? ;-)

On the foxtails, we didn't have them in New York, either, but when we moved out here, the very first thing our very first vet said to us was, "Have you heard about the foxtails?"

Great captions! I love photo comix.
And, hey: "sting, scratch, prickle, stick, poke, stink"? Thank you for making me feel a little less jealous of your snowless climes.

Jim says: You think that's bad? Let me tell you some time about my battle with the scorpion, you'll feel even less jealous then ...

I just know that $500 bucks is going for doggie dance lessons! how cool tho and you even get the sunset for free :-)

My mom has to "commute" 45+ minutes each way to work (32 miles one way) in metro-Detroit traffic. On cold icy/snowy days it's taken her 2 hours to get to/from work. That stinks 'cause she's cranky when she gets home & then doesn't want to play with me.

EEEWWWW Dennis! PEEE-UUUUUUU I can smell you all the way to Michigan! I know your mom has a good skunk off recipe but still that only works so good. Just stay away from that critter or you'll be outside all night with the bugs instead of resting comfortable in pillow ally
